Razors Edge v5.0 (R5)

Razors 5 is the version of Razors currently being constructed. As many of you will know, the project has been going on for a long time - this is because as far fewer of you know, a large majority of the production of R5 was lost when our old box (meebs) went down. The box - and the data it held - were unrecoverable, and, while we had bits of the new project, a large amount was lost.

But less of the hardship stories, R5 is well underway on our new box, aptly named 'haven'.

Why are you making a new version? What's wrong with the current one?

There are many new features that R5 will bring with it, many of which have been requested by you, the players. There's nothing wrong with the current version - we just want to make it better :)

Are you changing the zone layout?

Yes. Most of the mud's zones are being shuffled around - we've had a lot of new zones written, and those will be put in, and some will be removed/undergo major surgery. But fear not, it will still be recognisable as Razors.

Will I be able to keep my current character(s) for R5?

Most likely not. For R5, many things are changing with regards to players - the levels system is different, plus the career trees are being completely rewritten. If you have an Immortal or a God however, it is quite probable that you will still have one in R5.

Can I help in any way?

Sure! Try your hand at zoning - you might find you like it! If you feel inspired to write a zone, get in contact with Flipper, failing that, another implementor.

So what are these new features?

We have to keep some things a suprise, but here are a few clues:

Hey, sounds great! I don't suppose you need help testing it?!?

Well, currently we're managing to test everything quite well ourselves. However, some things, such as the Advanced Quest Zone will require 'en-masse' testing. We will let you know closer to the time.

Why don't you add this, change that, and remove the other?

We welcome suggestions for additions, alterations, and removals of features from you - you're the people who play it! Any ideas or suggestions, contact Anakha, or another implementor, and let them know!
